I find most church movies cheezy (especially a lot of the recent stuff)
but the following are some examples of parts of church productions that resonate with me (and I generally find to be moving):

1. In "Mr. Krueger's Christmas" where Jimmy Stewart talks to the baby Jesus
2. In "The Last Leaf" where the old artist paints the leaf during the storm and then dies the next day
3. In "The Gift" where the boy gets up early on Christmas and does all of the farm work for his dad
4. In "Windows of Heaven" where the couple plants crops during the drought and are later overcome with joy when it finally rains

I also strongly identify with "The Phone Call" because it basically sums up me as a teenager (I played the bassoon, took karate, worked in a fast food restaurant, and was super awkward around girls). Before I ever saw it, my sister watched it in a seminary class and told me that, "the church made a video about this super nerdy guy who does all of the same things you do." I was like:

Later, on a mission P-day, I finally got around to watching it and was like, "holy crap, they really did make a video like that."
