BYU fans are selling him short mostly because of his comments about BYU...He is capable. I would take him as HC today...
He is the type of personality BYU needs. Close enough to players, but not too close. He is smart, driven and would look to find any advantage BYU could get to offset the challenges of the school, honor code, admissions, etc.
I think these are all requirements for a coach at BYU. Bronco had many of them and found success. I am pretty sure Kalani is missing some of these things from his tool belt.
