BYU just extended a coach that I think is going to struggle big time next season and probably after next season as well. I think BYU will go something like 4-8 next year. There is little evidence to show that BYU is making any progress in recruiting. The defense looks as if it is still going to be mostly vanilla, drop 8, bend, bend and bend some more which isn't good enough to beat most decent teams. Wilson's lack of progress this season was depressing even considering his injury. He rarely had a long TD drive against any decent opponent. Plain and simple BYU was not smart in extending Kalani. He's not a good enough coach and he's not a good enough recruiter. He gets inconsistent results. He lost to terrible teams in Toledo and South Florida. He would have lost to both Tennessee and USC had those games been played later in the season (even if we had a healthy Williams). Sorry I just don't see it. He is what he is and yet BYU still gave him an extension.
