TV experts, opinions of this TV samsung hg65nj678u
At a hotel for the weekend and was fairly impressed with the TV. I currently have a 58” plasma that I really really like. Not looking to upgrade right away (although my boss always gives amazon credit for our Christmas gift) and thus haven’t done the extensive research.

I always hear of these gimmick technologies that come and go and am always glad I never fell for them (3D TV, curve TD, etc). I always hear about LED, OLED, QLED, etc. My understanding is that LED is good, QLED is better and OLED is best. I also remember hearing that QLED is sort of a cheaper substitute to “claim” to be as good as an OLED but in reality it isn’t as good and is in between a normal LED and OLED. Way back I remember hearing that for sports and action, going with any LED technology you want at least a 120 refresh rate (is this still a thing?). I also have heard people recommend HDR feature.

I’m pretty impressed with this TV but it is a hotel TV and doesn’t look like it is in Samsung’s normal consumer line up. So what can you tell me about this Tv based on the specs, etc? What is the comparable consumer version?

Here are the specs (impressed that it looks to be only 1 or so years old).

It doesn’t appear to have QLED or OLED. I can’t seem to find the refresh rate. It does appear to have HDR. It looks like it is 4K. So is this basically just an average back lit LED 4K TV with HDR?
