BSU played against Kaep so we got to know him pretty well. He was known as
"crazy legs" on the BSU board for his running ability. I thought he was an effective passer but not a great passer. He threw the ball hard, even when it wasn't necessary and frequently either threw it at his receivers feet or way over their heads. IMO his real strength was that he made one read and if it wasn't there he could take off running. He was deceptively fast. He didn't look like he was running that hard but it seemed like defenders always took a bad angle and got beat.

It was rumored that Kaep had MLB teams interested in him as a pitcher and I thought he should have gone that route. My reasoning at the time was that pitchers don't take the abuse a QB does and he could likely have a longer career. As it turns out, he probably would have caused the same problems for himself in baseball as he did in football.

I don't have as much experience with Hill, but I thought he was a much more complete QB and just a superior athlete overall. If he wasn't a QB he could have been a dominant RB, TE, LB, punter or anything else he wanted to do. Based on what I saw, I think Taysom is a better passer and has a better understanding of the game. If not for his injuries - which I honestly thought had ended any chance he had of playing in the NFL - I think he would have been invited to a Heisman ceremony. Not saying he would have won, but I think he would have deserved an invite.
