If everyone else does it how can it be “embarrassing”
Clothes and fashion are based on what society deems appropriate. So if 99% of college campuses deem something to be normal then by definition it has become the norm and can no longer be considered embarrassing.
If you’re looking at the 99% saying “you wear short shorts, you should be embarrassed!” Trust me, they are the ones laughing at you.
