This notion that somewhere out there is an announcer covering a team with complete unbiased objectivity is false doctrine. It makes their job more interesting and a successful product is more enjoyable and better for their careers. I’m talking about the actual broadcasters, not some rubble-rousing reporters looking to stir the pot.

I’ve lived all over the country and listened to a lot of local sports radio and watched a lot of local games...and this mysterious, neutral, home-team broadcaster is a unicorn. Stop being mad that we don’t have a unicorn (which would clearly be annoying if we did).

They all are rooting for their team and they don’t even attempt to pretend otherwise. And this is how it should be.
