Just watched the Karate Kid for the first time in decades.
I probably hadn't seen it since I was a little kid. It's a good movie and still holds up for the most part, though there are also parts that seem very dated and very much a relic of the 80's. However the theme of bullying and standing up for yourself is timeless and will always resonate with young people.

Do any of you subscribe to the fan theory that Daniel was actually the bully and Johnny was the victim? Apparently Daniel was always trying to pick fights with Johnny and his friends and also stole his girlfriend. (i.e. the shower prank in the men's restroom which was completely unprovoked.) Also according to this theory, the crane kick Daniel used to defeat Johnny in the tournament was illegal and unethical and should have gotten him disqualified.

Almost makes me want to watch the Cobra Kai series to get Johnny's perspective.
