Starting a workout doesn't mean warmup, correct?
It means first sets of something you're working on. For example I do warmup sets on each exercise prior to my my workout sets, but to start the day and blood flowing I do brisk walk, light jog or bike first as general warm up.

So my answer assumes the former and I do start my weight lifting with squats as it targets more of a whole body workout than other lifts I do.
