I really don’t get why people here think that joining a G5 conference
And playing a couple of tougherish G5 teams a year would be a good deal for BYU What would you have to give up to do that?

Money, a lot of it. Low end P5 money.

Exposure, a lot of it, high and P5 exposure.

As the college football world looks to separate G5 from P5 with Separate top 20 rankings for G5 and eventually championships for G5 it would drag us down further and further. On top of this the competitiveness of G5 teams is waning as well.

They are being strangled and killed and it will continue. It doesn’t even matter if right now each year you have two or three that can compete.

Boise didn’t sell out one game this year. It’s not like they have an 80,000 seat stadium. They have a 30,000 seat stadium and they didn’t sell out one game this year. Utah State sold out just one game this year.

G5 is a dying division 1AA gonna be mess. To associate yourself with that will damage your brand classify you with that group and then diminish you with that group. Horrible idea, Jason Buck wants it because he doesn’t support Byu anymore the people in Salt Lake radio want it because they hate Byu.

We’re stupid enough to think that maybe for some reason with 30,000 people in cougar Stadium and no one watching on Facebook we could maintain the program. With independence we stay with the P5 programs and eventually win that natural division happens we will be on the upper side not in the basement.
