https://phoenix.org/hotel-san-carlos-a-haunted-I stayed there about ten years ago. I thought there was something weird about it and then I realized that I had seen it on TV. I went to a horse show and came back about 6:00 and was going to take a nap. I laid down on the bed and got completely creeped out. I got up and went out. I came back from dinner later that evening and got in bed. As soon as I laid down the phone rang and there was no one on it and no dial tone. I got back in bed and the same thing happened. I was irritated and decided to sit by the phone and wait for it to ring. I sat there for a good five minutes and no ringing. I walked back to the bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow, it rang again. I called down to the operator and told her someone was ringing my room. She said that was impossible as it is an old fashion switchboard and all calls including room to room had to go through her. She said she would send up a bellman and move me. I told her I was fine. A few minutes later (it was now 11:00 at night) the manager knocks on my door and insisted that I move to a different room. He said this particular room has had a lot of strange happenings go on. When I figured out it was probably a ghost I said there is no way that I am moving. He was not happy. I should have moved, the room felt completely creepy and I got little sleep that night.
