Personally - I think anything that serves to avoid discourse is dumb.
If Boomers think that Millennials are ruining the world and want to share opinions as to why - great. That's a discussion we can have. We can talk about how some of their concerns are invalid, while others may have reason.

But if they express concerns and the only response is "OK, Boomer" - all that means is that apparently the person using that phrase has no logical response to their argument.

On the other hand, if Millennials have their own issues about how Boomers have done things in the past that they want to change and share that, and the only response they get is "Sit down kid, mommy will change your diaper in a minute" - it's basically the same thing. The person discounting them as a Millennial has no logical response to their argument/issue.

Those types of phrases do nothing but widen the divide and reduce chances of actual discourse. And we need more conversation and discussion, not less.
