I just stumbled onto the Bishop Gorman v Coronado high school b-ball game from
Las Vegas on one of the ESPN channels.

When I lived in Las Vegas, I was either near or in Coronado’s boundaries (as I recall and depending on what year it was). It wasn’t an ethnically diverse area at all. They don’t have a white player on the floor and they’re tied at 50 late in the third quarter with powerhouse Gorman.

Either the area has changed, they got lucky with the few minorities in their boundaries also being very good athletes, or they have one of those situations where all the nearby good athletes happen to mysteriously play at the same school even though that’s not where their families live (as happens in Utah high school sports sometimes).

My money is on the last of the three options. Anyone from Las Vegas have any insight?
