As I think about this, there are two sides.
Businesses and private sellers.

Businesses who accept cashiers checks, have at it. I'm sure they have their ways to verify and protect themselves. Whatever, there is a use case for a cashiers check.

But if you are a private seller who has been offered a cashiers check. Run. It's not worth the risk.

I still do stand behind the argument that cashiers checks are obsolete: (verbUS
cause (a product or idea) to be or become obsolete by replacing it with something new.) as there are many other options that are traceable and possibly recoverable for payment.

Triple down? I'm not taking that L that you have offered.
