Whittni Orton breaks the school record in the mile by five seconds with a 4:29. To put that time into perspective if she ran that time at indoor nationals last year, she would have won nationals by seven seconds.
Also, RM freshman Zach McWhorter won the men’s pole vault and improved his No. 2 mark on the BYU all-time record board after clearing 18-04.75. If he cleared that height at indoor nationals last year, he would have won nationals by almost 18 inches.
Looks like a lot of the long distance guys were held out - hopefully some of them run next week at the University of Washington meet.
