Not Jordanesque by any means, but he’s got to have a comfortable hold on second place no matter how distant.
Even had a couple solid Adidas shoes early in his career before Nike, as well as a couple really successful non-signature Nike shoes (Huarache, Hyperdunk).
I’d also say he really popularized the low-top basketball shoe — most team and signature shoes since the 70s/80s had been high and mid cut. Now you see far more low tops ever since Kobe went with them in the Kobe 4/5.
Wasn’t a huge fan of Kobe but his sneakers were usually a pretty safe bet. Here are the ones I had at some point — still have the 08 Hyperdunks and ball in them now and then!
