This is a gesture that should mean something. Something that goes beyond the sport.


Jackie Robinson’s #42 is retired by professional baseball because he broke the color barrier. There’s a day they honor him every year where every player and manager wears that number. Jackie Robinson Day

Even the Umpires wear #42.

Jackie quit playing in the Fifties and died 20 years later. I don’t think the league retired his number until the 90’s.

This is a Tragic loss to friends/fans and family. But no reason to go overboard.

I’m right because you know the name Jackie Robinson, and you’re probably not a Dodger Fan and maybe don’t even like baseball.
