Now I know what you're thinking: Doesn't that leave a lot of food globs that get stuck to the inside of the garbage can? And the answer is yes, it does. But here's a little life hack I learned right here on CB: Once a year, usually when the weather is nice outside, you can take that gross, disgusting garbage can and fill it up with a garden hose. The sun will super-heat the water in the metal garbage can, and it will literally bake off all the gelatinous sludge and detritus until its floating on the top.

Now I don't know how you feel about this, and its not for everyone, but when the water is really hot like that, it actually makes a pretty sweet hot tub. Just slide in, kick up your heels, and just wait for the babes to come calling. You'll be the toast of the town, admired equally for your economy as for your genius. Trust me on this
