If someone were walking down the street with a handgun and periodically firing in a random direction (but level with
their line of sight) what sort of punishment would/should they get? They are being reckless with a significant chance of a lethal consequence.

If that person “accidentally” shot and killed or injured someone they would probably sit in jail for awhile. If they were lucky enough not hurt anyone there would still be serious consequences.

In today’s society of public transportation and ride sharing, DUIs are 100% preventable. No impaired person needs to get behind a wheel. Period. It is inexcusable and a fatality should be charged and punished like premeditated murder.

That is just how I feel about DUIs.
