1- his data-driven approach, many players talked about how he sat down with deep-dive data on usage etc etc. that helps set up impact that changing to his new approach would give the team
2- he brought in a senior leader in Toolson who had already been in his system and already had been at BYU (huge boost to culture)
3- constant accountability in all things, including holding himself and his staff accountable for following through on what they said they'd due.
4- constant reinforcement when things go right or wrong due to new systems etc, stop and point that out and use it to build
5- Letting people who didn't fit go. Emery was seen by the staff as a poor fit and so they made what I'm sure was a difficult decision and let him go.
