I just think that medium-rare meat has more taste, and cooking it more just
takes away that taste a bit. It sounds to me like you really aren't that big of a fan of steak (which is fine, my wife isn't either), so why spend 25-30 bucks on a filet when there are other entree options available for cheaper that you might like more.

Then again, I could be wrong and you like the filet more than those options. Not judging at all, just bored at work waiting for my shift to end and thinking out loud.
