I’ve used an egg for 8 years
Pros

- Minimum maintenance. It still smokes as well as it did day 1. I’ve replaced a couple small ticket items.
- Versatility - I don’t even own a regular grill. I do pizzas, steaks, burgers, kabobs, etc on the egg in addition to smoking. I added a Blackstone griddle, which was the perfect compliment
- Once you learn it, it produces amazing food

Cons
- It takes a while to learn and you will screw up a lot. Be ready to eat ruined food, wonder what you did wrong, and fight with temperatures
- While the initial setup is expensive as it is, get ready to drop a lot more on accessories. As you learn, you will want to add a ton
- Sometimes when you just want to throw something on a quick grill, it’s annoying to go through the work and time to get it ready

Overall, I have personally really enjoyed my egg, but I have spent an awful lot of time learning on it and working on the craft. It’s not a purchase to take lightly and I think a lot of people end up selling them after they own them for a brief period of time because they didn’t know what they were getting into. Kind of like getting a dog.
