I get that but is the argument that the players didn’t know this was against the
rules? That argument doesn’t hold water.
Even if the league had never issued that memo, the players still would have known that their approach to sign stealing was against the rules. So, issuing the memo to the GMs doesn’t mean the players were free to break the rules, even if the GM never notified the players about the memo.
