For Zach Wilson to be successful this year - it isn't just about his teammates.
If Zach wants to be successful this year, he's going to have to get quicker with his reads and get the ball out of his hands faster.

I think that's the of the biggest things I noticed as far as a difference between him and the other QB's. Zach tends to hold onto the ball waiting for THE play to be made, while the others were content making positive plays and getting the ball out quick so that the RB or WR can make a play after the catch.

Steve Young once said that he became a much better QB once he realized that not every pass has to be a TD or even a 1st down - but that he's got to take the plays that are there and rely on his teammates to also make a play here and there. He even specifically mentioned that sometimes folks are critical of a QB making a 3rd down throw short of the marker - but if the circumstances are that that is the open through an the right throw to make - you make that throw instead of looking to a lower percentage play beyond the marker.

You're right - Zach can't lead the team to wins if the WR's are falling down and not catching passes. And he can't lead the team to wins if the RB's don't ever have positive running plays. And he can't lead the team to wins if he's getting creamed from the blindside because his OL isn't blocking. But he also won't lead BYU to wins if he doesn't get the ball out of his hands on time, quickly, and accurately to the right receiver. And he didn't do that quite enough this last season.
