With Dalton's injury, he is very fortunate that his foot landed straight & flat
when it hit the standard behind the basket. He had so much torque and velocity going that if his foot would have hit sideways or turned on impact he would likely have had a very serious injury such as at a minimimum torn ligaments, and worse case scenario a compound fracture or dislocation of the ankle.

It still is a bummer that it happened, but after watching it live and wincing like everyone else when it happened, I couldn't believe he was able to shoot the free throws and walk around a bit right after. I know it got swollen and sore on the bench after the adrenaline wore off. Here's hoping he can get that ankle rehabbed in time for the WCC tourney, or at least for the NCAA tourney. Get well soon Dalton. What a great year he's had.
