So I was sitting in a meeting yesterday with SAP's Chief of Innovation...
don't I sound important? 🙄 ... when he brought up Clayton Christensen. He got momentarily choked up, quickly regained his composure and explained he worked for him at one point and "we all miss him very much." Did Max Wessel work under Christensen at Harvard while getting an MBA?

I read in the news how revered Christensen was in the tech world, but yesterday was my only first-hand experience. Anyhow, one of my takeaways from that meeting was: How many academics have left such an emotional impact on industry titans? Especially the tech world where arrogance is a virtue. How did he manage to pull that off?

My guess is brilliant+inspirational+virtuous and loving. I understand better now that we lost one of the best last year. I was trying to explain to a colleague afterward who Clayton Christensen was and she got out her phone and downloaded one of his books right then and started reading it on the plane ride home.
