VCU - 8 NCAA tournament appearances, 1 final 4

Marquette - 5 appearances, 2 sweet 16

Xavier - 7 appearances, 1 Elite 8

BYU - 4 appearances, 1 sweet 16

(Edit - and then there is the example of what we can only aspire to be:)

Gonzaga - 10 appearances, 1 championship game, multiple sweet 16

These are teams very comparable to BYU. BYU isn't THAT far behind, but I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for 2 more appearances in the last 10 years than we have had. We actually had the guys the last 10 years with the number of 4 star recruits but we couldn't convince our best players to stay. I also think the right coaching is HUGE. I'm a huge Rose fan, but I think Pope can take BYU to another level.
