You're right, it did look like he was bracing himself. But that doesn't mean he
can jam his forearm into the back of a dude standing still with his back to him.
Just because it's "instinct" to push off, doesn't mean it's legal.
It was clearly a foul...somewhere between a common foul and a flagrant 1. These refs said it was a common foul, but they missed it.
