Semi- controversial non basketball observation
The more cashless our society becomes, the more tipping culture has increased and is driven by payment processors.

Two examples from this weekend. I ate at a casual place where I had to pay at the counter. A default 25% tip was selected in a box with a note “service was great 😊”

If I deselected that and chose “service was good” it was 20%”. If I selected “service was so-so” it would have been 18%.

I suspect a lot of people, like me, feel uncomfortable checking any other option with the cashier right there.

Second was the lift ride I just took. By default the tip is filled in at 20%.

I guess what I’m saying is basketball is great. Tipping a nice amount for good service is great. But apps and payment processors continue to use social pressure to drive tipping culture ever upward.

Anyway back to basketball.
