I rewatched the game today and noticed a few things between Haws and Petrusev
First, I agree with the refs that there should have been a foul called but there was no need to elevate it to a flagrant. Farnham was delusional when talking about it and Gonzaga fans are just blinded by their fandom to admit it.

Here is the first time Gonzaga ran the pick and roll. It’s the exact same play as the controversial one. Notice that Haws checks Petrusev and he stands his ground just fine.

Throughout the rest of the first half Haws was a major nuisance to Petrusev. I think Petrusev started to get extremely frustrated that Haws was doing such a great job at disrupting his game. Here are a few short clips:

Finally, the controversial play happened and we all know the story from there. I think the first clip showed Petrusev was more than able to stand his ground when Haws checked him on the roll. That check is completely normal in basketball. In my opinion, Petrusev knew the check was coming the second time and was tired of Haws being all over him so he sold it.

As a bonus, Gonzaga ran the pick and roll play later and it was Harding’s job to check the roll. Here he is checking Tillie in much the same manner but the refs were ready to call a foul on it:

Before everyone complains, sorry the quality is poor. I was watching the game and just decided to film the tv. I wasn’t going to take the time to make a high quality cut of clips from the game.
