That's fair, it looks like the wheelbase is extended even further back on the longbed Tundra.
Although this Tundra longbed is 164" wheelbase and a Chevy crewcab 8' is 167", but I think that extra 3" is in the crew-cab, which is a "higher" look, so the aesthetics are more balanced.
But even then, as much as I prefer an 8' bed, the "look" on a crew-cab is awkward. They just aren't good looking, no matter how useful:
