you missed some epics whiffs by that show.

1) CIA operatives storming a foreign government headquarters and killing everyone on site to rescue a captured operative? I can't suspend my belief on that one.
2) Venezuela allowing a US congressman to be killed in country would have been one of the largest international incidents of modern history. In the show, they treat it like another murder in Venezuela (oh well! sorry!) rather than a declaration of war or worse. The treatment of that homicide which was later pinned on Venezuelan government operatives, and the only person seemingly interested is lowly Jack Ryan. completely unbelievable.
3) Several scenes of "bad guy machine gun-itus" where they spray the good guys with bullets and nothing hits but the good guys raise their head and pew-pew-pew all the bad guys are dead.
4) there is absolutely NO reason why the one commando goes WANDERING IN THE WOODS by HIMSELF when they TOLD HIM TO STAY AT THE BOAT. He had a job to do, guard and protect their escape, it wasn't like they just didn't want him around, but then He was like "squirrel!" and wanders away. Then close up of sad face as he sees the boat drive away. Makes it even worse when he loses his rifle to a fat kid. tough break marine! coulda happened to anyone!
5) You're right that Raul would have killed Gloria much earlier in the story, but what kills me was her complete lack of security. After the US provides her with this "amazing security detail guy", what does he do? no driver security, no one really watching her kids, lousy home security, her campaign headquarters located in a square with giant open windows facing a bazillion sniper hiding places. Raul likes snipers remember? But at least the security guy is standing outside looking intimidating. Completely unbelievable.
