I realize the first thing that needs to happen for BYU is that they have to beat Pepperdine. If so, BYU is the two seed. Now, for three and four, It looks to me like it is at least a possibility that Pacific could end up three and SMC four. SMC will likely beat SCU and lose to Gonzaga. Sure, they could beat the Zags. Pacific plays LMU and USD. Two games that could go either way but I would think that Pacific would be favored in both. They are both road games so maybe not. But if both of those things happened SMC and Pacific would be tied with five losses.
Both Gonzaga and BYU only played Pacific once and beat them. SMC split with them. Would that give Pacific the three seed? I'll be the first to admit that I don't understand the tie breakers. I also don't know it this has been discussed, if so, sorry.
I don't care who the Cougs play, but I do think SMC causes the Cougars some match up issues. I won't go all the way to saying match up nightmares, maybe just match up headaches.
