young, but Gobert isn’t a spring chicken anymore - he’s got a few more years of his prime left, then you have Bogey, Ingles, and Conley all into their 30s now.
This team just isn’t built to contend, they’ve been exposed as a poor defensive team that lacks energy and discipline on that end of the floor. The question is what can the team do in the off season? I believe a major reset needs to happen. If there’s a way you can dump Conley, you gotta do it. That was a swing and a miss. I think everyone but Donovan is on the table after this year. As much as I love Gobert, it’s very risky to tie up so much of your salary cap into him at this point now that he qualified for the supermax.
If you could trade him for a couple solid players and a 1st, it may be worth it. I’m not sure what the answers are for this team, but all options should be considered.
