When Technology and fast food go wrong... (McDonalds rant)
This morning I noticed an 'alert' on my phone from the McDonalds app... buy one Egg McMuffin get one for $0.01. I thought 'Sweet.. I know what I'm having for breakfast today!'. So I placed a mobile order from my phone and walked over to the McDonalds about a block from my office.

Only to find all of the doors to that Mcdonald's locked and a sign that said "Due to equipment failure we are closed today". As I was walking back to my office I saw the charge go through my bank (mobile bank notification).

So I get back to my office and call the store... The lady who answered said there wasn't anything they can do, that I'd need to call the mobile support number in the app.

So then i call the 800 number in the app. That lady said the store was wrong, and that there is nothing they can do. She did take all my info (order number, time, name, address, etc) and said she'd mail me out some coupons for my trouble. (she did say "Do you know about our McCafé promotions?".. so I assume I'm getting free coffee coupons). The support lady said my best bet is to take up the issue with my bank 😠.

At this point, I had spent more effort trying to get my $4 back than it was worth.

Stupid McDonalds... All I wanted was my frick'n Egg McMuffin.
