Most likely these extreme measures will end up with the preventative measures saving more lives from the typical flu season than it costs in deaths from COVID-19.

I have been wrong many times in my life and may be wrong here. But I would bet we ultimately see fewer than 2,000 COVID-19 deaths in the US and will have our lowest flu season death toll in decades by a much larger order of magnitude.

I support the preventative measures and do think it should be taken very seriously. But finger pointing at this point is very premature and will likely prove to be provocateurs doing their usual click bait crap stirring and not an accurate reflection of the good faith, hard work of both sides to address an issue that is inherently non-partisan.
