It would be interesting to see how that affects the "Brady is the GOAT" talk. Part of Jordan's legacy is that at the peak of his career, when he was with the Bulls, they won the championship. He took two years off, and they didn't even get to the finals. He came back and they won 3 more. It was clear evidence that the championships were Jordan's, and not the system's.
If the Patriots suddenly don't make the playoffs, that would be saying something about Brady. But if they went and won a championship with someone else the first season he left, I think it would make interesting implications for the GOAT talk.
