In all seriousness though, I don't believe this is the right approach. Our
state and city governments can do better. This was a private event of under 50 people. I'm sure it was scheduled weeks in advance. We should all work together, but this isn't the way to do it. Boarding up the place and looking at ways to revoke their license. Business owners like myself right now are under an enormous amount of stress. On it's face, stories like this look like the venue is maliciously trying to kill people. The reality is someone probably booked a wedding brunch in there months in advance and pleaded with the venue to let them keep the date. This is happening all over the nation. Some areas are handling it better than others.

There are hotlines being setup in Minnesota where people can snitch on businesses not complying. This is all the wrong way to do things.

There needs to be more understanding on both sides right now. These are life altering days ahead of us. I'm trying to keep 2-3 jobs together right now that will financially impact several people under me for the next 3 months. But I'm fighting an uphill battle to save them based on the overnight restrictions.

We can do better than this draconian approach. Business owners want nothing more than just an opportunity to stay in business and are more than willing to make changes in their model to help the current situation. But to overnight come in and slap a shut down order on a bar, or a theater, or any venue is devastating.

It's one of those things where everyone needs to wear the other shoes.
