I don’t think they should be let out of their contracts. Shifting the burden to
the landlords is faulty logic. It’s not the kids’ fault, it’s not the landlords’ fault, so the economic burden should be shared according to the contracts. Landlords will lose money from those who won’t pay for housing they agreed to and the broken contracts will be hard enough. So they will be hit hard by this regardless.

Shifting all the responsibility to the landlord crushes the landlord. How’s that fair?

And before anyone goes all Tonya Harding on me, I have two kids in student housing that I pay for, all or most, and one kid lost his job Monday.

BTW, this isn’t an attack on you Sigma. I simply see the issue from a different perspective.
