I ordered a birth certificate replacement for my son from California. I paid the fee and it came this week. Along with the bc there was a one-page receipt from San Bernardino County Clerk (this the county he was born in). It had the total I paid for the bc and then this.

What?! I have no idea what this might be. I lived in SB county 15 years ago while going to school at Loma Linda University. I’m nervous to call because they might say, “We found you! You owe us this money. Pay up!” On the other hand, maybe it’s money they owe me but that would say credit, wouldn’t it?

I’ve been racking my brain. What would you do?
