New Mexico St takes and early 10-1 lead as Gonzaga misses its first 6 shots and has 2 early TOs. NMSU is still up 25-18 with 6:45 left when Gonzaga goes on a 20-0 run to end the half. Gonzaga maintains control the entire 2nd half as the closest NMSU would come within is 10. Gonzaga is led by a very balanced scoring effort. UC Irvine does cut the lead to 10 at one point, but a Toolson 3 pointer and a Childs dunk push it back to 15. BYU wins this one handily 87-74. Player of the game is Yoeli Childs with 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. Haws added 19 points and 7 assists while Toolson chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.
