How many deaths would the seasonal flu cause each year without the vaccines we have?
From this article on the CDC site, it seems like the vaccine not only helps keep people from getting sick, but also can reduce the severity of those who do get sick. It seems like if Covid-19 is equally as bad as seasonal flu then we should probably be more worried about it than the flu (which I think we are). And since we don't yet have a confirmed way of reducing the severity, our best bet is to try to contain the spread of the disease.
