So if a Small Business get an SBA loan and doesn't lay off a bunch of employees,
or cut their hours, and they do this until June 30, 2020, then the "Loan" becomes a "grant"? Am I understanding that correctly?

I work for a small Physical Therapy clinic and our numbers are about 25% of where we were 3 weeks ago. The owner already "temporarily Laid-Off" one of the Part time PT assistants (which made sense, since she was the one that kept saying it was "stupid" for us to still see patients because some other clinics were closing, so she texted our office manager to tell her she wasn't coming in). He told her to hold for 3-4 weeks. Not sure if that kills the deal for us as far as this program (I assume there has to be some sort of grey area as far as part time hourly employees and if they are refusing to come in anyway?).

That being said, this could be a good program for us, since we still have people that need to come in (most that are coming just had surgery) throughout the day. I know he was going to look into a "Job Share" type of program situation where we all cut a bit and the remainder is partially picked up by Unemployment Benefits. He hasn't talked about it much today, but he sure seems much happier and I know that he was looking into SBA last week.

hopefully programs like this can keep many businesses alive for a short time and then when we go back to normal he doesn't have to hire a complete new staff or start from ground zero.

I have a brother that is an orthodontist and the ADA recommend they shut everything down until Mid April, so no one is working, I have no idea how they deal with the these rules or guidelines.

Am I understanding the BSA program correctly?
