they did (and assuming the House gets on board with it), it appears those who apply for unemployment benefits will be eligible to receive both the base state unemployment amount + $600 per week. If that amount equals or exceeds what employees were making, is there any reason you would NOT furlough/lay off employees if you knew you were not going to be able to operate the business as normal for the next 3-5 weeks?
