Small business owners (less than 50 people) - with the Senate passing the bill
they did (and assuming the House gets on board with it), it appears those who apply for unemployment benefits will be eligible to receive both the base state unemployment amount + $600 per week. If that amount equals or exceeds what employees were making, is there any reason you would NOT furlough/lay off employees if you knew you were not going to be able to operate the business as normal for the next 3-5 weeks?

Looking for reasons as to why this course of action is or isn't a indicated based on your past experience.
