I have an adult child in the middle of a dispute re social distancing
Daughter has three housemates. All four practicing pretty strict social distancing.

Daughter’s boyfriend also has three housemates. And they practice strict social distancing.

Daughter and boyfriend obviously want to spend time together. Two of her roommates are ok with that. And all three of his roommates are ok with that. But she has one roommate who is absolutely opposed to any unnecessary outside interaction.

This has turned into a major dispute. The roommate threatened to move out if my daughter socialized in any way with her boyfriend. My daughter’s view is that all eight of them are taking social distancing seriously and why should she ignore her boyfriend indefinitely.

This gets complicated because there’s a lease (so money is involved) a government mandate to stay home (so the “law” involved) etc. And maybe there’s a lack of trust between the roommate and the boyfriend.

I’ve tried to avoid giving hard advice because I see both sides. I reminded my daughter that we are all making huge sacrifices but yes the one roommate seems to be taking a stand that the other seven think is extreme.
