Hospitalizations for flu are tested for flu
The first cases were announced in Washington in January 21. Cases in January 31 were tested in California. They definitely would have considered COVID if someone had pneumonia but tested negative for flu.
It just doesnt add up that it’s been around a long time and a huge percentage of the population has it, but the hospitalizations are only occurring now

We only know we’re getting COVID hospitalizations now because we’ve started testing for it. Before Jan/Feb it was
