What is your favorite performance of an actor who played against type?
(assuming you know the type). For example, I grew up thinking that Shirley Jones was the wholesome motherly type she played in The Partridge Family. Then years later, I saw her performance as Lulu the prosititute in the 1950s movie Elmer Gantry and I thought, "Wow!"
