I have an anti-Mormon dog.
She goes bonkers with barking and running around and extremely skittish when the missionaries come over. I'm sure that I am the one who created it. She would always bark when someone knocked or rang the doorbell. So I bought a bark collar to stop it. The first collar that I got didn't have an automatic shock or vibration when she barked, you had to have the remote and push the button. One day when we were having the missionaries over for dinner, I knew that they would be coming and had the remote ready to shut her up as soon as she barked. When they knocked, she barked and I zapped her. Unfortunately, since then, whenever she sees the missionaries, she goes nuts. Many a companionship have tried to win her over by sneaking her food, but she wouldn't have any of it. This despite the only time she was zapped was that first time they came over.

Anyway, my son came home from Guatemala the other day. He had only been gone since December. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as he walks in with his suit and name tag on, she goes crazy. She is a beagle mix, so her nose is very keen and should have recognized him right away, but she just couldn't get past the missionary attire. We had to put her in her kennel and cover it to settle her down. Our new bark collar that senses when she barks was uncharged and hadn't been used in months, so we couldn't use it.

The funny thing is that the next morning when she saw him in his sweats and tee shirt at breakfast, she was all excited and wagging her tail and couldn't get enough of him. Somehow, we have to get her past her religious bigotry.
