I get email blasts from the senior leadership almost everyday with supportive messages and whatnot, but they mean very little. The ones that mean something are those from the leaders that have taken the time to know me, and the middle of this crisis isn't the time to get to know me. I'd much rather hear, "I know you've got a couple girls at home. How are they holding up? Is your wife able to work from home and is her job secure?", than "do you have a family? Uh, are they ok?" To me that goes to being authentic, like you mentioned.
