percentage of older people compared to the rest of the state. I love older people. They have lived a lot of life, gained valuable experience and have wonderful stories to tell. This is not an anti-older person post.
My food storage, as of late, was better designed for the four people, two adult situation that we were living a month ago than the seven people, five adult situation I have now. I bought some extra things and did not panic buy in an attempt to be a good citizen.
Like most places, grocery stores have been opening here for an hour or more for seniors before opening to the rest of the public. What has happened is there are enough seniors and they have enough money on average that they can be the hoarders the rest of us need some relief from. Toilet paper, rice and other items have been virtually non-existent on the shelves of stores I have gone to over the last week. I asked a Wal-Mart checker about it and he said, "We restock our shelves after the store closes at night. We open at 7:00 a.m. for the seniors. By 7:45 the items you're talking about are gone for the day."
Would it be so bad to reverse it on a given day and have it be, "You can't come in if you're a senior until [insert time]"? I'm kidding, but I'm getting closer to wanting that.
